On the occasion of celebration Earth Day - April 22 and the realization of international projects Living Green, One Day on Earth, Clean up the World, Palilula Municipality and Media ecological Serbia net EKOpolis, organized in Nis `Serbia` Gallery the celebration. To institutions, organizations and individuals, media representatives, the appreciation acknowledgements – gratitude expressions, were given as signs of gratitude of ecologic net and Municipality ` for the support in keeping life surrounding and contribution to planetary activity Clean up the world`.About the significance of Earth Day that is in the whole world this year with the motto Face of climate changes spoke professor from Faculty of Philosophy, Nis University, Dr. Ivan Cvetanovic, executive director of EKOpolis, lawyer Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality in Nis and Dragan Vidojkovic, coordinator of planetary ecologic campaign Clean up the World and editor of Media ecologic net.

According to Boban Dzunic opinion, president of Palilula Municipality, for the minimizing of the influences of the climate changes, the key is raising consciousness and public education on the causes and possible circumstances. Palilula Municipality is for sure one of the most active units of local self government of the City of Nis in the sphere of protection of life surrounding and not only in Nis, but also wider in Region with the Action plan of Palilula for 2012 -2016 one of four strategic objectives in life environment protection. Thanks to successful projects and EU support with incitement of cooperation on local and regional levels on key matters of common interest regarding strengthening territorial cohesion, competitiveness and sustainability we create the conditions to change present state of jeopardizing life environment.

Our country belongs to the affected areas where precipitation in future will be for 20 percent less is the estimation of the experts with who I have been recently as representative of Ekopolis participated at International conference in Bucharest emphasized professor Ivan Cvetanovic, is that Serbia will be in some years ahead exposed to adverse affects of climate changes like extremely high and low temperatures, reducing of rain, storms, floods, warm waves, food fires, slide lands, increasing erosion and other types of degradation of land. That is why we have to prepare ourselves and speak about this problem in very pragmatic way. Cvetanovic gave the example of Sweden that is leading European county in ecologic activities. In preservation of our planet Swedish people realized that one should start from local self government and EKOpolis exactly over the partnerships insist on that on education, changing consciousness, and the knowledge that this planet is our mother. I had that happiness as a professor in Illinois University, Chicago, to spend two months with Lakota Indians. From them I learned the relation towards planet Earth like a relation to something that is the most dear to human kind. For the Indians the tree is the lord of Planet Earth, not a human, for the fact that if there had been no trees we would have not been alive and thanks to trees we have oxygen. Let us remember Socrates and his words: By changing ourselves we are changing the world. That is the vision and mission of EKOpolis. We have been working on it for more than 10 years, after us we are leaving TV production of more than 460 broadcasts, we are the organizers of International event of ecological and archeological films, promoters of many campaigns. This is the only way to directly influence the world of every individual. For Dragan Vidojkovic, editor of media Eko net, the important role in this direction have those who bring political and economic decisions, from them it is expected that rationally govern natural resources, so to reduce the economical risks and provide protection of human lives and material goods. Palilula Municipality successfully cooperates with citizens, educational institutions, organizations of civil societies in promotion of the project living green objectives and creating ambiance that contributes to changing habits of those not responsible individuals and re -cultivates devastated areas.

We have announced the war to wild landfills said Dzunic. We are taking care of energy efficiency especially in construction in the cooperation with the citizens, we are taking part in adaptation of inter residential block areas in the settlements, we are greening our parks and boulevards and taking care of our rivers (Gabrovacka and Morava) – parks of nature, woods heritage, we are adapting Bubanj Memorial Park complex. That is why we decided on this great day to thank all those who helped us to practically realize our local and global objectives of life environment protection. The fact that authorities of the City of Nis, with the Mayor PhD Zoran Perisic, realized also our activity is very much encouraging. Palilula Municipality has been suggested the logistic support in the realization of the programme that will contribute to improvement of people life quality.

Earth Day was fulfilled with the promotion of one more global activity that is thanks to EKOpolis from the last year more close to Serbs. It is about media project One day on Earth global documentary of notifying the activities that happened in one day in the life of people all over the world. The author of project and director is Kyle Ruddick, producer Brandon Litman announced that this mega film creation will have its premiere in more than 160 world countries.
